KTA All-Stars and Bokamoso South in crunch tie

Full court press... KTA All-Stars
Reigning National Basketball League (NBL) champions KTA All-Stars face a crunch tie against Bokamoso South on Friday evening. The game is a rematch of last season’s NBL finals which KTA swept 3-0 to claim their second title in three years.

The 2016/17 campaign has been a struggle for KTA, however, and the champions find themselves in sixth place in the NBL A-Division and out of the top four playoff spots. It means, as things stand, KTA would not be able to defend their NBL title when the season reaches its business end.

KTA will be hopeful they are regaining form as they have won their last two games, against Limkokwing University and Leseli Tigers, by a combined 34 points.

However, the champions face a tough test against a Bokamoso South side looking to bounce back after their first defeat of the season. Bokamoso suffered a shock 54-50 loss to Leseli Tigers last time out, their only defeat in nine games this season, which dropped them to third place.

Bokamoso, however, can return to the top of the standings with a win over KTA. The game will tip-off at 18:00 at the Lehakoe Club.

Staying with basketball and the Lesotho Basketball Association’s third annual awards which have been dubbed ‘the Night of Champions’ will take centre stage on Saturday evening. The awards will be held at AME Hall from 18:00 to 22:00 and are set to be bigger and better with soft drink company Sprite coming on board as a backer this year.
