Lioli return to the top of the Vodacom Premier League

Lioli back on top
Lioli have returned to the top of the Vodacom Premier League thanks to a hard fought 1-0 over LCS this afternoon at Setsoto Stadium.

The champions played almost the entire 90 minutes with 10 men after goalkeeper Liteboho Mokhehle was sent off in the first minute of the game. However, Lioli matched LCS and claimed the winner through Nkoto Masoabi’s second half strike. Tse Nala now lead Matlama by two points. Masheshena remain third, four points behind Lioli.

In Butha-Buthe, Likhopo’s recent poor form continued as the Red Army suffered a 2-0 loss to relegation-threatened Likila United. The loss leaves Likhopo five points adrift of fourth place while Likila’s win lifts them from the relegation zone to tenth place.

In the weekend’s final fixture, Linare’s season went from bad to worse as Tse Nala were beaten 2-1 by Sandawana at the Maputsoe DiFA Stadium. Sandawana strengthen their grip on fourth place win the victory. They are four points ahead of Bantu. Linare, on the other hand, drop to 12th, only above the drop zone on goal difference.
