Matlama 1, Lerotholi 0

Goalkeeper Matsoai Shokoe’s first half penalty was enough to give Matlama a 1-0 win over Lerotholi and move Tse Putsoa up to fifth place in the Vodacom Premier League, eight points behind leaders LCS.

In a first half of numerous wasted chances it was perhaps fitting that it would take a keeper to show the strikers how it’s done as Shokoe calmly beat Tumelo Ntšoane from the spot in the 30th minute.

Matlama had several chances to make the game safe but more wayward finishing meant a nervy end for the champions as Lihale pressed furiously for an equaliser. But Tse Putsoa held on to keep their hopes of an unprecedented 10th title alive.

Elsewhere Bantu saw their title ambitions take a knock when they were held to a 1-1 draw by third from bottom Mphatlalatsane. Lioli’s revival under their new coach Thabile Secker continued as they grabbed a comprehensive 3-1 win over bottom side Mabeoana in Matsieng to move up to sixth.

Results:
Matlama 1-0 Lerotholi, Mphatlalatsane 1-1 Bantu, Mabeoana 1-3 Lioli
